When Shubhi, Dan and I met this winter down in O.C. where Shubhi grew up, I was so excited to connect with this Bay Area couple. They found me through one of my favorite resources for couples A Practical Wedding -- which always sends me really great folks. So I knew we were going to have a great time together when we decided to do the engagement shoot in Bolinas. We meet up in Marin, hopped in one car and journeyed all around the peaking landscape. There is something about the earth up in that area, it undulated like savannah animal's sun-beat backs -- like enormous camels making up the land. As the sun began to get sleepy, the colors burst into the moist air, bending into the most magical colors. The mountains shifted to blues and purples and S&D moved through the pink light like the gems that they are. Helping each other walk up the rocky paths in such gentle ways, and taking it all in together. It was a dream to make these photos with them, their love unable to hide.

How do I describe how dreamy, fun and rad these two are?!?!? I don't think I can in words. I photographed Lauryn and Mike's rustic, backyard wedding a couple years ago in Rhode Island and this year we decided to do a little shoot out here in SoCal. So we meet up in Ojai and went on a hike in the valley. Little did we know it was going to be a GOLDEN CLOUD WALK! The light was streaming with magic and love and these two were flowing with the universal force. After the hike they changed into their wedding garb and decided to do a spontaneous vow renewal in an orange grove, during sunset! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? How lucky am I to be a witness to their special commitment and love. Theirs is something to be honored and cherished and I'm so thrilled to be the one to document these special moments in their lives and love! Here's to the many phases of being in a love union and all of the golden places that takes you.
Hello Dear Ones!
This April, I had the special honor of taking an art and architecture pilgrimage to Rome. My days were filled with wandering around the deeply historied passageways, tip-toeing through ancient ruins, languoring in chappels and galleries, having afternoon coffee in open air cafes, being present in one center of thousands of years of art. I took so so many photos ... and have a few to share with you here! I hope you enjoy my little journey through these photos!
Nancy and Will met years ago at a friends party. They hit it off and developed a friendship that has now bloomed into a life partnership. Their wedding, later this summer is going to be be on the east coast so they wanted to get some sweet photos of them in their home town -- Los Angeles. When Nancy suggested Griffith I was ecstatic. It's the perfect blend of lush nature and gorgeous art nouveau structures. Out wonderings around the trails and observatory at sunset was a total dream. The light, their giddy smiles and laughter, the views of the city, architecture that professes nature and love-- I could have stayed up there for days. Hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do!
The Metropolitan Building in Queens is a real trip. Around every turn are collections of victorian lamps, cracking mirrors and walls of velour chaise lounges. The setting fit the couple beautifully; warm, inviting, creative and fun. Thanks Colleen and Joe for an incredible day!
